Travellers from 59 visa-exempt countries, including the US, will need an ETIAS travel authorisation to enter 30 European countries for short stays from the last quarter of 2026. ETIAS is not a visa, similar electronic travel authorisations are required by the US, Canada, Australia and more recently the UK.
